Kitty to the Cape

A documentary dedicated to the now abandoned, but once tremendously important mining industry of North West Cornwall. It is a journey westward from 'Wheal Kitty', a small mine near St Agnes , to Cape Cornwall, a rocky promontory near Land's End, where the last of the mines on this coast can be found.
The film briefly describes most of the mines on this spectacular route including Levant, Bottallack, Wheal Owles and Polberro to name but a few. The programme tries to convey the spirit and ingenuity of the miners who toiled in the bowels of the earth to create an industry that came from nothing to become a vast, and for some, a very lucrative part of the history of Cornwall. 25 minutes
