Lanscape of a Legend

'Landscape of a Legend' is a documentary about the most important mining area in Corwall, Redruth and Camborne. In the 19th Century this area was radically different with literally hundreds of mine shafts and smoking chimneys covering most of the available land south of the twin towns. All around the landscape are engine houses, processing sites, stacks and other buildings that preserve the legacy of a land that for a short period was the largestmetallic mineral producer in the world.
The video not only looks at thegraphic industrial relics to be found here but also describes some of the social life and hardships faced by the proud and hardy Cornish miners. The use of rare archive film and old still photographs adds an extra dimension to the programme
