An offshoot of the Newlyn school of painters working a few miles along the Cornish coast, this loose-knit 'colony' of artists centred on S J 'Lamorna' Birch (1869-1955) and at various times included Sir Alfred Munnings, Dame Laura Knight and Harold Knight. This film follows four artists, all members of the Royal Watercolour Society, as they explore the famous beauty spot of Lamorna Cove and respond in varying ways with paintings done on location, at the same time reflecting on how the cultural heritage of the area may have impacted on their work. Paul Newland, Simon Pierse, Richard Sorrel and Jenny Wheatly feature as the srtists in this artistic journey around Lamorna.
